Migration, Art & Mind
Anaka Women's Collective
13 - 21 May
2 Royal Avenue
An exhibition of work from artists in the Anaka Womens Collective.
Anaka is a Belfast-based women's collective, led by women with direct experience of the asylum system. We use our collective skills to educate, advocate for and celebrate each other in the face of an oppressive immigration system. A group of talented artists has emerged from our collective who wish to share their work. A body that spans across cultures, locations, subjects, mediums and issues; including mental health.
An indication of the range of diverse experiences within our art collective can be felt both through the work and through the artist's individual bios. Our artists have each contributed a special piece of work commissioned by the Mental Health Foundation for the 2023 NI Mental Health Arts Festival engaging with the theme of 'Myths'.
