NIMHAF festival 10th-19h of may 2024  ~ This year, our theme is PAUSE

Welcome to this year's 10th anniversary of the Northern Ireland Mental Health Festival.

This year’s festival runs from 10th-19th May 2024.

We are delighted to present a regional programme of varied, vivid arts events, exhibitions and showcases that aim to create a platform for high-quality artwork that deals compassionately and intelligently with the importance of the arts and their impact upon our mental health and wellbeing. We are beginning in the city of Derry/Londonderry with the dedicated symposium of guest speakers, hosted by the Mayor of Derry City & Strabane District Council and making our way across Northern Ireland culminating in a final symposium in the City of Belfast on the 19th of May.

Join us as we continue to challenge the stigma associated with talking about our mental health and well being, celebrating the significant role of our creativity, self expression and the arts as a catalyst for change.

Our theme this year is PAUSE, a time to stop, stand still, reflect upon the importance of our own and each-others mental health and well being.

We encourage you to reflect upon the pivotal role of creativity, arts and culture in helping us make sense of a chaotic world. An opportunity to invest in your own creativity and self expression, embrace, participate, appreciate and celebrate your own creativity and the creativity of others in a Festival that is diverse; dynamic and inclusive. We are celebrating with a host of regional festival partners across arts and culture, education, community, health and well being.

We are Looking forward to working with all of our festival partners as we build upon the learning and success of previous Festivals.

We welcome expressions of interest from all of our festival partners, artists, activists, arts organisations, community and educational champions.

Our closing date for expressions of interest and online submissions will be the 20th of March, we look forward to hearing from you!
